BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) is an independent registration body that certifies fire protection companies in the UK to ensure they meet high-quality standards, thereby enhancing public safety and helping organisations comply with fire safety regulations. IHTC are BAFE SP205 Life Safety Certified – demonstrating our high level of experience and competency in the fire sector.
The Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, along with their families, are treated fairly and with respect. Many of the IHTC team are ex-service personnel and we are proud to support others who serve or have served.
ELCAS
ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Services) is a scheme by the Ministry of Defence that provides financial support to military personnel for higher-level learning, enabling them to pursue new career opportunities during and after their service. IHTC is a registered Learning Provider with ELCAS, providing training to serving and ex-service personnel as part of our commitment to support our those who serve in our armed forces.

IFSM
The Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) is a UK-based professional body promoting fire safety standards through education and certification. The IFSM maintains a Tiered Fire Risk Assessors Register (TFRAR) which categorises fire risk assessors into three competency levels, helping organisations select suitably qualified professionals for fire risk assessments and ensures assessments are conducted by individuals with the appropriate expertise, enhancing fire safety and compliance. All of IHTC’s Fire Risk Assessors are registered on the IFSM Register – demonstrating their competency to carry out Fire Risk Assessments.
FIA
The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is the UK’s largest trade association for the fire protection industry, promoting fire safety standards through advocacy, research, and networking. It aims to improve fire protection methods, devices, services, and apparatus to effectively safeguard lives and properties. IHTC is an active member which enhances our understanding and competency through CPD, technical publications and industry updates for best practice.
