You will gain the skills and knowledge to: \n\nUnderstand and apply relevant fire safety legislation and standards.\nPlan and undertake Fire Risk Assessments using recognised methods.\nIdentify hazards\, ignition sources and intolerable risks – and recommend proportionate measures to control them.\nAssess how building design\, construction\, materials\, active and passive fire protection\, and maintenance contribute to fire safety.\nEvaluate existing Fire Risk Assessments reports and create clear\, accurate reports and action plans.\nUnderstand human behaviour in fire situations\, including evacuation requirements for people with specific needs.\n\nEntry Requirements\nNo formal prerequisites\, but candidates should have suitable literacy\, numeracy\, and communication skills\, and access to appropriate premises/equipment for assessment. \nProgression Routes\nSuccessful completion provides direct progression to the FireQual Level 4 Certificate in Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment (RQF).\nIt also acts as a gateway to broader fire safety learning and development\, supporting competence growth towards Advanced Fire Risk Assessor status. \nCourse Duration\nDelivered over 5 days and then 3–4 months ePortfolio through IHTC. \nLearning Outcomes\n\nUnderstand principles and scope of Fire Risk Assessment\nUnderstand fire development and spread\nApply building construction knowledge\nEvaluate fire safety management systems\n\nAssessment & Certification\nPortfolio submission via Quals Direct with assessor support.
