Qualsafe Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) – Virtual Classroom

Introduction

The Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance forms part of the QA Education and Training suite of qualifications. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the National Occupational Standards for Learning and Development. This qualification provides the knowledge, skills and understanding for individuals wanting to work in quality assurance, e.g. in Further Education (FE) Colleges, for Training Providers or Local Authorities. Trainee IQAs might include individuals who currently work in a teaching/training and/or assessing capacity wanting to develop their knowledge and skills relating to the internal quality assurance of vocational based qualifications.

*It is recommended Trainee IQAs hold a recognised assessing qualification, such as:

• D32/D33 Assess Candidates Performance/Assess Candidates Using a Different Range of Methods
• A1 Assess Candidate Performance Using a Range of Methods
• Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment or above

Course Duration

IHTC Ltd offer induction days for this course and tutor support throughout.

Expected total learning hours is 120 for the completion of all assessments and creation of a portfolio. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 24 months.

Course Programme

Successful candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of an IQA including the legal and good practice requirements; how to plan, evaluate, maintain and improve the quality of assessment and the management of relevant information for the purposes of quality assurance.

Certification and Assessment

Learners will complete 2 x Trainee IQA Workbooks (1 for each unit), professional discussion-based tasks and produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating underpinning knowledge and its application through practical activities relating to quality assuring assessment.

Successful Learners will receive a Qualsafe Awards certificate.
